About IFSCCodes.io
Independent information service
Maintained by the IFSC Codes Editorial Team
IFSCCodes.io is an independent informational directory designed to help people find and understand Indian bank IFSC codes, MICR codes and branch details. Our goal is to make official and bank-provided information easier to search while being clear about its limitations.
Why this website exists
IFSC and bank branch information is available from official sources, but users often need to search across different bank names, locations and formats. Branch records can also contain abbreviations, spelling differences, older addresses or changes caused by mergers and relocations.
IFSCCodes.io organizes this information into searchable bank, state, city and branch pages. The directory is intended to help users research a code and identify the official source they should verify before a financial transaction.
What we do
- publish searchable IFSC, MICR and branch information from sources we consider reliable;
- standardize bank names, branch names and Indian location data for clearer browsing;
- check records for invalid formats, duplicates, conflicts and missing critical fields;
- review reported errors against RBI or official bank information;
- publish safety notices explaining what an IFSC can and cannot confirm;
- maintain transparent Data Sources, Privacy, Terms and Disclaimer pages.
How we review information
Our primary reference is Reserve Bank of India information for NEFT-enabled bank branches and IFSC details supplied by participating banks. We also use official bank branch locators, notices and other official information when available.
Records are not accepted solely because they appear in a user submission or third-party directory. Material corrections are reviewed against stronger evidence before publication. Our process is explained on the Data Sources and Verification Methodology page.
Editorial responsibility
The IFSC Codes Editorial Team maintains the publication rules, reviews correction evidence, updates trust and safety information and monitors the quality of public records. Editorial decisions about bank data are based on source quality and evidence.
Our financial safety approach
Bank routing information is a Your Money or Your Life topic because an incorrect transfer instruction can cause financial harm. We advise users to verify the beneficiary name, account number and IFSC with the beneficiary or the relevant bank before sending money.
A valid IFSC identifies a participating bank branch or routing destination. It does not prove that an account belongs to the intended person, that an account is active or that a payment request is legitimate.
What we cannot do
- confirm the owner of a bank account;
- check an account balance or transaction status;
- stop, reverse, trace or recover a payment;
- resolve failed transfers, refunds or beneficiary disputes;
- provide banking, investment, legal or tax advice;
- replace confirmation from the beneficiary or the relevant bank.
Corrections and accountability
Users, banks and other interested parties can report a possible error through the Report Incorrect IFSC Details page. We review the evidence and update a record when the stronger source supports the correction.
